West Virginia voters made their wishes clear last week in the Primary for West Virginia Commissioner of Agriculture. They would prefer an actual farmer or seemingly no one at all to prospective Democrat nominee Walt Helmick. A career Charleston politician, Helmick only received 20-percent of the 292,000 Primary ballots cast May 8th.

“Helmick seems to think this debate is over, but folks clearly won’t vote for a fake farmer when real ones are available,” said Rob Cornelius, spokesman for the West Virginia Federation of Young Republicans. “Nearly 71-percent of those who voted a Democrat ballot and 100-percent of Republicans opted to vote for anyone but Walt. Farming matters.”

Helmick only won a majority in ten counties, an identical performance to Obama protest candidate and incarcerated felon, Keith Judd.

“Juddmentum racked up roughly 14,000 more votes than did Walt Helmick, despite the incumbent Senator having the advantage of tens of thousands of dollars of donations by Charleston lobbyists and insiders,” said Cornelius. “Voters who protested Obama with their votes may have been protesting the Obama-loving Helmick for his State Senate votes to cut coal usage in West Virginia and fund ObamaCare.”

“Fake farmer Walt Helmick is clearly a rubber stamp for Barack Obama.”

After getting only about 20% of all votes cast in last week’s W.Va. Primary Ballots, we thought it might be a good time to remind folks about The Five Things You Need To Know About Walt Helmick.

Not sure if this makes sense, but the Commissioner of Agriculture should probably be some sort of farmer. Helmick keeps on denying it.

We won’t forget. Neither will the voters. 80-percent of those who voted in last week’s primary didn’t vote for Helmick.

We bet voters won’t like a arrogant career politician who pads his own pockets with campaign donations.

Meet the Republican candidate for Commissioner of Agriculture, retired Marine Kent Leonhardt.

Unfit For Even The Thorn Campaign?

Thorn For Congress Spokeswoman Calls U.S. Marines “douchebags”

Community organizer Sue Thorn’s campaign for Congress begs West Virginia media to take notice of their shady attacks on Congressman David McKinley. No issues, few facts, lots of support for President Barack Obama.

Worse, shrill Thorn Campaign Press Secretary Erin Beck doesn’t respect West Virginia voters or those who protect us around the world.

The text of the tweet reads “Something about Marines talking to other Marines makes them immediately sound like douchebags. Sorry, but it’s true.”

Beck’s remarks on Twitter are an embarrassment to West Virginia Democrats and we ask the Thorn Campaign to terminate her immediately.

“It’s both disgraceful and offensive that a spokeswoman for the Sue Thorn campaign would address our country’s heroes as “douchebags,” said WVFCR Chair Aaron Kidd. “Politics can often be heated, but clearly these values are not West Virginia Values. We join patriots in telling Thorn that these statements aren’t acceptable from her employees.”

Does the Thorn campaign share these views?

It’s time for the Thorn campaign to renounce these hateful acts by apologizing for such egregious remarks on behalf of their campaign press secretary, and taking responsibility by firing Beck

“We are proud of those who protect American freedoms worldwide,” said Kidd. “We knew Thorn’s values don’t have much in common with most West Virginia families. But we never expected her campaign to actively work against our soldiers and sailors at war.”

No one at the WV Democrat Party cared enough about their own voters to warn them about Judd, assuming that all would march in lockstep behind Obama.

The Environmental Protection Agency administrator whose regulatory philosophy called for crucifying U.S. energy companies is gone. Al Amendariz has resigned, leaving a trail of outrage in his wake. But unfortunately, his heavy-handed attitude towards oil and gas businesses that are developing our country’s resources and supporting millions of much-needed jobs is not an isolated case.

The Obama Administration’s outright hostility to the fossil fuel industry extends from tax treatment that limits production and global competitive advantage, to scientifically baseless endangerment orders that slow exploration and development of oil and gas resources. There’s more, but the point is, as outrageous as Amendariz’s rant was, it’s just part of an overzealous, needlessly aggressive culture that continues to permeate the EPA and illustrates this Administration’s flawed and economically risky energy policy.

Mr. Amendariz should have been fired, but that would require a fundamental attitude adjustment toward government regulation that the Obama Administration is just not ready to undertake.

Tucker County, W.Va.– Young Republicans gathered at Canaan Valley all weekend to meet 2012 candidates and plan for a year of victories over those vote buyers and incumbents who cripple West Virginia.

Gubernatorial candidate Bill Maloney, State Supreme Court candidate Allen Loughry and Third District Congressional candidate Bill Lester addressed members of the West Virginia Federation of Young Republicans and West Virginia College Republicans gathered for their winter board meetings.

“We have much to do in 2012 to help Republicans statewide, from Bill Maloney and John Raese all the way through to so many of our own Young Republicans running for House of Delegates,” said WVYR President Conrad Lucas. “Our numbers are up, there are dollars to raise and voters we need to meet.”

The WVYRs chartered several new county organizations, now totaling 16 statewide and growing. The under-40 crowd heard as well from Brian Griffiths, the state chair of Maryland’s Young Republicans, about how to build a great state organization here in West Virginia.

The group also unanimously passed a resolution condemning the actions of the Federal EPA and it’s ongoing assault on West Virginia jobs in every part of the energy industry but solar.

“Our elected leaders in Washington have the power to pull the choke chain on the EPA,” said Lucas. “But cowards like Barack Hussein Obama would rather see Appalachian folks be unemployed than producing coal, natural gas or electricity.”
